Florida Academy of Family Physicians Recommends Ingenix CareTracker to Its Members

Member discounts and federal incentives reduce barriers to adopting health IT

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The Florida Academy of Family Physicians (FAFP) is recommending Ingenix CareTracker™, an integrated practice management and electronic health record (EHR) system, to its members, in an effort to support improvements in patient care and enable eligible doctors to qualify for federal government IT-adoption incentives.

Through a special program offered by CareTracker Partners, a national distributor of health IT solutions, FAFP members are eligible for discounts on monthly subscription fees and implementation services for Ingenix CareTracker software.

FAFP members who subscribe to Ingenix CareTracker through CareTracker Partners will receive a discounted monthly subscription rate for the duration of their contract. These discounts are designed to complement federal government incentives, including up to $44,000 in Medicare and up to $63,000 in Medicaid incentive payments as provided for by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), for physicians who demonstrate meaningful use of an EHR system.

“The Florida Academy of Family Physicians is committed to helping its members select, implement and successfully use EHR systems to improve care quality and the overall experience for patients,” said Ira Pearlstine, M.D., chairman, Quality Practice Management Committee, FAFP. “Ingenix CareTracker is a comprehensive practice management and EHR system that is being offered to FAFP members at an affordable price. In addition, our members will appreciate that Ingenix CareTracker technology is easy to use and can be implemented quickly. FAFP evaluates EHR systems and practice management solutions on behalf of its members, and Ingenix CareTracker is a complete system that meets all of our requirements. This is one system that should be considered when making an EHR selection.”

“Ingenix CareTracker’s cloud-based (Internet) service delivery model reduces the cost and complexity of installing EHRs for small and large practices alike. Pairing discounts for implementation services with discounts on monthly subscription fees for FAFP members addresses the biggest challenge to physicians with adopting EHRs – cost. FAFP members who subscribe to Ingenix CareTracker software and are eligible for federal incentives should find this an attractive option for their practices,” said Jim McDonnell, principal, CareTracker Partners.

About Ingenix CareTracker Solutions
The Ingenix CareTracker system saves physicians time and money by helping them enter, retrieve and correlate important clinical knowledge and patient medical information at the point of care. The system features connections to thousands of labs, hospitals, pharmacies and commercial and government health plans, and fully integrates with all of the operational functions of a physician practice, simplifying administrative tasks such as billing, scheduling and documentation. The system also helps physicians conduct medication and allergy verification and interaction checks, electronic prescribing and quality measurement and reporting. Ingenix CareTracker includes an ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 Certified and CCHIT Certified® ambulatory EHR system. The Ingenix CareTracker system’s “cloud-based” architecture differentiates it from many traditional EHRs. “Cloud-based” means that it resides on secure servers with redundancy in locations across the country, and is accessed through the internet much like the banking and stock brokerage systems. Ingenix CareTracker is a Software as a Service (SaaS) solution to which physicians subscribe rather than purchase.
