Daniel Zingale Available to Discuss the State of Health Care Law Implementation in California

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- California has provided a model to the country of how to implement the Affordable Care Act in an effective, bi-partisan way. Daniel Zingale, an architect of California’s 2007 effort to reform health care, is available today to discuss the importance of the law’s implementation to the health of Californians and specific actions Governor Jerry Brown can outline in the State of the State speech tonight that will continue this progress.

Actions the Governor can take to improve the health of Californians without adding to the state’s budget deficit include:

  • Push the federal government for early release of money from The Prevention and Public Health Funds included in the new law
  • Replace the outdated Medi-Cal enrollment system
  • Apply for and implement the health homes program planning grant
  • Help educate California small businesses about how they will benefit from the new law
