CAHI Congratulates President Barack Obama on his Presidential Re-Election

CAHI Remains Concerned about Americans' Access to Affordable Health Insurance

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Council for Affordable Health Insurance (CAHI) congratulates President Barack Obama on his re-election to the White House. However, the Council remains concerned about the future of Americans' access to affordable health insurance coverage under the federal health care reform law.

"It's not enough to know that the presidential candidates wanted to reform our health care system," said CAHI Federal Affairs Director Roy Ramthun.  "The public also needs to know whether those policies will work.  We need to fix the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, and we need it done correctly….the first time.  We look forward to working with President Obama to see that it happens."

CAHI Director of State Affairs Kevin Wrege advised, "We also look forward to working with the states on implementing the federal health care reform law in a way that supports Americans' most personal decisions -- those impacting their health and the health of their families. We support states' efforts to improve the federal law by deploying market-friendly reforms which meet the needs of their citizens, such as those outlined in CAHI's 'America's Affordable Health Reform Plan: A Common-Sense Solution.'"

Since 1992, CAHI has been the principled, free-market voice protecting and promoting access, affordability and choice in American health care. CAHI's membership includes health insurers, small businesses, physicians, actuaries, insurance producers and brokers and consumers. It's your health; it's your choice.
