The American Hospital Association is not pleased with several proposals being considered by the Senate Finance Committee as approaches to lowering Medicare costs. The committee is considering a variety of options, including payment bundling, value-based purchasing and language intended to reduce readmissions, which members hope will collectively lower costs and help pay for reform. The AHA's take, meanwhile, is that the proposals would result in payment cuts to what are already low Medicare payments. Article [1]
