Position Description

Physician Assistant needed in Illinois less than an hour from Chicago. PA is needed for Orthopedic surgeon specializing in back/spine. Surgical position, duties include: Performing office evaluation of new patients and determine treatment plan in conjunction with the attending physician. Performing follow-up care for previous patients of the practice and treat appropriately. Assisting in surgery at the hospital and Ambulatory Surgery Center. Perform pre-operative education and routine post-operative care. Providing weekend coverage for hospital rounds. Participating in daily rounds at the hospital. Providing call coverage on a rotating basis. Prescribe legend and controlled substances. Order appropriate lab work and diagnostic testing. Monitor, review and interpret results of tests.
