Director of ER - AVA Search Group

Position Description

Director of Emergency Services for hospital in Southeast VA, near the NC border.

ER has 40,000 + visits per year and 60% of the hospital admits come through the ER. 20 bed Main ER and 14 beds in separate Fast Track/Urgent Care.

Seeking someone with the experience to drive increased satisfaction with patients, employees, and physicians. Responsibilities including planning, organizing, directing, and controlling of clinical practice and associate management functions. Support hospital goals and provide for the continuity and achievement of these goals and objectives. Establishes standards of practice and performance improvement methods. Serves as resource to hospital managers and hospital personnel. Responsible for managing staffing and budgetary guidelines while maintaining the goals of quality patient care and optimal customer service satisfaction.

Qualifications

• BSN required; MBA or MHA a plus
• RN licensure from the Virginia State Board of Nursing
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 5 years experience as staff registered nurse in Emergency services
• Minimum of 2 years of management experience as director of same-size or equivalent Emergency department
• Solid leader who is assertive and possesses effective oral and written skills
• Must be strong patient advocate
• Requires flexibility in scheduling and able to work all shift including weekends and holidays in order to ensure high quality services
