Position Description

This position provides support for all core organizational functions and business processes for internal/external customers. Under the direction of the Sr. Director or designee, with wide latitude for independent decisions, is responsible for planning, implementing, and organizing activities relating to corporate-wide application selection, deployment and optimization, on multiple hardware platforms, operating systems and software environments. Will review, analyze and evaluate system and/or service requests using structured techniques and methodology. Can manage all or portions of a project from the initial fact-gathering meeting, through post-implementation review. Functions as a key interface between the technical team, user community, and stakeholders. Can identify scarce, inadequate, or absent resources, and make provision to resolve the deficiencies. Provides assessments of existing system capabilities, workflow, user requirements, options and outcomes, to evaluate effectiveness of change. Proposes comprehensive options for solutions to complex problems including both technical and business aspects. Works with internal analysts and technical staff to conceptualize function, data structures and best fit, and creates functional specifications to meet customer expectations. Facilitates communication between customer and all internal/external support resources.

A four-year degree in Business Management, Computer Science or related field is required including coursework in System Analysis and Design, Database Theory, and User Interface design. A minimum of 2-4 years System Analysis experience including 1 year in a health care information systems environment, working with end users to extract, document and optimize data flow, implement hospital systems, support databases and Decision Support, is required; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. The ability to derive, document, optimize, and communicate, the flow of hospital application processes and departmental functions is required. Project management experience or demonstrable experience in the role of technical/functional lead is required. Position requires excellent analytical skills in a complex hospital information systems environment. Critical thinking, strong organization and detailed documentation proficiency, oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills are a must. Ability to communicate sufficiently to perform duties in a manner consistent with departmental scope of services and standards.
