Sr. Business Development Mgr - Microsoft

Position Description

Microsoft’s Health Solutions Group (HSG) is responsible for developing, selling and supporting new products that enable consumers, providers, enterprises, and governments to improve health and wellness. Core to the Health Solutions Group’s offerings are HealthVault Search and the HealthVault consumer platform. Many U.S. hospitals and provider organizations are interested in leveraging HealthVault to provide better service and care to their patients.

As a member of the HSG’s business development team, your expertise and responsibilities will include:

Management of HealthVault Provider Connectivity Channel – Identify, analyze and prioritize partnership opportunities with applications connecting patients and providers. Initiate discussions and evangelize HSG value proposition with target partners, including vendors of Hospital Information Systems (HIS), Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) and provider portal solutions.

Deal Execution and Partnership Support – Drive closure of complex partnership deals, including initiation of partnership discussions and development and negotiation of deal terms. Work with existing Microsoft teams to ensure successful implementation and support of partnership.

Manage Hospital and Health System Sales Executives – Responsible for managing sales executives with accountability for closing HealthVault partnership deals directly with hospitals and health systems. This will include developing sales targets, managing overall deal pipeline, and assisting with deal closure.

Business Strategy – Assist the HSG in identifying new business opportunities, refining business strategies and solving difficult business problems typically involving business case development and buy/build/license analysis.

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong analytical skills coupled with a broad understanding of Internet/software technologies, understanding/passion for the health sector, capacity for strategic thought leadership, strong quantitative ability to solve highly unstructured business problems, and be a self-starter with high levels of energy and drive. In addition, the candidate must have solid relationship management and communication skills to work effectively with partners at the executive-level and collaborate with internal Microsoft teams, including the HSG’s product development, sales and marketing organizations as well as other Microsoft business groups (MSN, Windows Live, Health and Life Sciences) and Microsoft-wide groups such as Legal & Corporate Affairs, Corporate Development, and Venture Integration and Finance.

Candidates are likely to have at least 5-10 years of post-college experience in areas directly relevant to the responsibilities described above and a successful track-record of closing deals.
