That’s the charge of Product Manager at Microsoft. Each year Microsoft invests billions of dollars in research and development to explore technologies that will positively impact businesses and now enterprise healthcare providers.

The Product Manager is an experienced professional who’s specific responsibilities include 1) building a process for gathering requirements from customers and the field; 2) Contributing to product roadmap definition and preparing for future new product versions; 3) Understanding the competitive landscape and working closely with HSG product marketing and marketing communications teams to ensure inclusion of our health departmental products into the all up marketing, communication and events strategy; 4)Working with program management, development and business management to define business models, partner strategy and go to market programs as we apply technology to healthcare markets and opportunities.

This position will also work with the Worldwide HSG sales team to coordinate the creation and delivery of well-written, timely, and accurate bid responses (Request for Information, Request for Proposals) for our new HSG Enterprise Solutions that will enable Microsoft to secure customer contracts and procurements. This position will help craft pricing proposals beyond the RFPs and maintain our sales knowledge base. The Product Manager will engage with partners, manage our liabilities and assess our potential to win contracts.

Success in this role will require the development of strong working relationships and interactions with customers, senior executives, technical leaders and other product & marketing groups across Microsoft. The successful candidates will have a minimum of 8 years product management experience including three or more years in healthcare IT or working on IT of healthcare providers or line of business software ISVs (Independent Software Vendors). The position requires 30 to 40% domestic and international travel. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication abilities, passion for technology and customers, and business strategy skills as well as high energy and passion for their work. Experience launching products and working with sales teams and partners to understand marketing requirements in order to drive content and messaging creation is preferred. Experience as product manager of SQL Server based HIS solutions (healthcare ISV solutions based on Microsoft and competitive database technology), engineering degree and MBA strongly preferred.

This individual must possess high initiative and have the ability to work in a strong team environment. The ideal candidate possesses excellent technical, marketing and business analysis skills, well-developed strategic thinking, and the ability to communicate and coordinate with a variety of product development, marketing, sales, and business development teams. This role requires excellent communication, writing and organizational skills, be able to manage deadlines and deliverables and to direct effectively, efforts of cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:
• 5+ years of product management experience or 8 years of product management/marketing combined experience
• Deep technical knowledge of Enterprise Healthcare Imaging, PACS/RIS, and other Enterprise Provider line of business applications (i.e. Pharma, Labs, etc.)
• BA/BS required in a related field or equivalent. MBA preferred.
• Detail orientation and the ability to prioritize projects, features and meet deadlines.
• Experience launching products and working with sales teams and partners to understand marketing requirements in order to drive content and messaging creation
• 5
years of specialized experience in managing proposal shops working on task-order-sized to large, multiyear-procurement-level and 3+ years of general proposal experience in progressively higher levels of responsibility.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and superior presentation skills.
• Strong organizational skills including the ability to coordinate data from a variety of sources
• Team player with good interpersonal skills who is able to perform well under pressure
