Providers are embracing 3-D printing technologies in an effort to help wounded veterans do day-to-day tasks more easily, according to a Forbes article. At Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Peter Liacouras, director of service for 3-D Medical Applications Center, is working on customized treatments for service members. In one case he is investigating how to help an injured veteran return to the ice hockey ring, Forbes reported.
